Week Seven (Stall Development)

Things we need for our stall:
  • fabric - big sheets
  • small bits of fabric for embroidery
  • needles
  • thread
  • beanbags
  • incense
  • lights
  • rug?
  • lanterns

Things to sort out:
  • figure out where we are going to be placed
  • should we do strips of fabric or one whole piece or add squares to the fabric
  • should we use scented candles/oil or just add oils to the fabric
  • buy patterns or print it ourselves
  • rug? anywhere in Massy to borrow one?
  • lanterns? (decorations)
  • bean bags as our furniture (maybe drop same coloured fabric on them, or have the been bags all orange or all red, or just have them multi coloured?)
  • whether we use the over head lighting and add gels to make the light warmer (go to the toy store to get gels for colour over the lights)

- This will be the colour for the fabric of our stall, or a colour close to this.

Stall Layout:

For our last stall and where we were placed in the market, we were placed near the end of the market on one of the walls. However in this place we were next to one of the noisier groups which would have been disruptive to our relaxation stall. So we decided we wanted to be more in the middle of the market and away from the noisy stall.
In talking to the logistics team we were able to get the middle of the market. However we found out that the back space of the market was now free, and in looking at it and with it being a big space it would be the perfect place for our market. We would be able to hang our fabric, and have a heap of room to put bean bags in.

Below are two sketches of how we have kind of envisioned our stall to look like, these are just some ideas and next week when we do our practise market before our actual market, we will figure out an actual set up.
